Stop Human Trafficking

Picture
OATH Coalition is the leader in bringing awareness to human trafficking, which is also known as modern day slavery. Founder Mark Elam explains how the U.S. is now the #1 destination country in the world for child sex trafficking; 100,00 to 300,000 U.S. children and young people (both girls and boys) are bought and sold every year from around the world and within the U.S.

As Mark explained recently on The Dr. Phil Show, "it's not just specialized kidnapping, it's parents trading their children for drugs, or online romeos/predators on social networking sites."

Most trafficked victims will never tell anyone. It is up to us to speak out for them.

Food Forward in Los Angeles

Picture
For the 15 years I've lived in Los Angeles, I've remained in awe of the food hanging from trees all around town. I couldn't help but notice how they tend to go unharvested - a sad result of the Fast Food Era we live in.

How can that be? Free nutritious food in your yard and you don't eat it? Well, apparently someone else wondered that very same thing.

Food Forward is an organization that was started in 2004 and its goal is to make sure the food growing on trees does not go to waste in Los Angeles. They proudly harvest and distribute Real, Unprocessed, Free Food to the local food pantries that feed the hungry. How beautiful is that! Below are a few shots I grabbed from a recent harvest in Beverly Hills. The oranges were delicious.
